Faces of Constantia – Meet Carol (Lilibet Manor)

Born in Preston and raised in the nearby village of Penwortham, Carol shares fond memories of a happy childhood spent with her sister, Brenda. Their early years were filled with simple joys and family love — their dad hand-built their cots, while their mum lovingly sewed clothes for both the girls and their dolls.

Carol recalls playing out on the green near their home, spending hours outdoors and making memories that have stayed with her for a lifetime.

Over the years, Carol worked hard and took pride in everything she did. She spent time in a cotton wool factory before moving into retail, where she worked as a shop assistant at the Co-Op. Her caring, friendly nature made her a favourite among customers and colleagues alike.

Even now, Carol keeps busy with the hobbies she loves most. She enjoys knitting, making Christmas cards, and completing word searches — all while listening to her favourite music on the radio. She has a definite sweet tooth, prefers coffee to tea, and takes great pleasure in the little things in life.

Her sister Brenda describes her perfectly: “Friendly, funny, and a real people person who loves making others smile.”

Carol’s story reflects everything we celebrate through our Faces of Constantia series — a life filled with kindness, family, and the simple joy of connecting with others.
