George was born on Cannon Street in Middlesbrough. Growing up wasn’t always easy, but life improved once he began working. Following his father’s advice, George joined the army at 18, serving for 2 years before building a long career at ICI.
In his younger days, George loved playing snooker and football, and he still enjoys watching the snooker on television today.
His advice for younger generations is clear and practical:
